ABOUT US

It is almost certain that cricket reached Vantaa, with the formation of Vantaa Cricket Club (VCC) in 1995. VCC is the third-oldest surviving Cricket Club in Finland. The club was created by a group of young men of Sri Lankans. VCC was initially formed in 1994 at a tennis ball cricket meeting in a small gravel ground at Rajakylä, in Vantaa. The new club palyed its inaugural match in 1995 against Helsinki Cricket Club (HCC) and then with the Stadin Kriketti Kerho (SKK) in the same year. Sevaral Cricket clubs were soon established in Lahti, Turku and Tampere. By no time, sveral other cricket clubs came into existance in the metropolitan area as well.

Vantaa Cricket Club (VCC) is a sports club that is a member of the Finnish Cricket Association (FCA). VCC improved rapidly from 1995, so that by the end of 90s they were in the running for the Championship. VCC have won Finnish league championships several times and defended their Finnish league title successfully in the past. They have also won the newly branded T20 & T10 formats several times.
